Most people start preparing to take the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) a month or more before their test date. There are about 100 ways to prepare but probably only a few ways that work. There are three steps that may optimize your LSAT score: (1) Prepare (2) Preparation Course, and (3) Practice

Prepare for the LSAT
To start, mentally prepare yourself to spend 20 hours a week studying. Though each student is different, 4 to 6 hours per day, for most, will make the difference between a higher and lower tier of law school. In preparing, know what the LSAT is about and know what score you need to get to get into the school of your choice. Law School Finder

You will need a basic guide of law schools to determine each school's LSAT score acceptance rate. Each year, US News publishes its U.S. News Ultimate Guide to Law Schools which is an accurate, up-to-date and reliable guide to law schools.

Preparation Course
After you have figured out what the LSAT is and what is your target score, you have to consider whether you want to take a prep course. There are many different theories and results that relate to prep courses to take the LSAT. The bottom line is that you need to figure out what kind of study habits you have. If you need a structured course to keep you disciplined to prepare for the test, a test prep course is a need for you; however, even if you are able to have structured study habits on your own, many people still find test prep courses to be valuable for getting hands-on training and feedback. Practice
The importance of constant practice can not be understated. Whether you take a prep course or not, getting a stack of practice tests and taking them in testing conditions is the most important step in preparing for the LSAT. There are a few practice guides that will be very helpful. Getting a wide range of questions may give you a more rounded preparation.
