Director, Legal Services
The Superior Court of San Diego County, the second largest court system in the state of California, is seeking an individual with outstanding leadership and administrative skills for the position of Director, Legal Services. The individual must also possess the highest level of integrity and possess skills in strategic thinking, problem solving and teambuilding. The successful candidate, under the direction of the Executive Officer of the Superior Court, will be responsible for providing direction and oversight to legal research and in-house litigation and serve as counsel to the Presiding Judge and the Court Executive Officer. Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications but is expected to be between $145,000 and $167,000. A generous benefits package is also offered.
Qualifications: An applicant must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from an accredited college or university AND five years of professional legal experience, as a practicing attorney involving litigation and/or legal research including one year of supervisory and administrative experience. Experience in the judicial branch is desirable. Responsibilities must include managing staff and activities for a major operational or administrative support program or division.
